Market Rasen has a new face on its town council.
Carol Skye, of Naylors Drive, Middle Rasen was elected in Thursday’s election, as she narrowly defeated UKIP candidate James Griggs of Lammas Leas Road, Market Rasen.
After a recount there was just 10 votes in it, 390 votes to 380.
Ms Skye has been on the town council previously and also stood earlier this year when Nigel Cook was chosen by councillors over her for co-option.
She said: “It’s very interesting that so many people voted UKIP in Market Rasen, I wonder what that says about democracy.
“I’m pleased to be elected and to be able to represent the people in the town and give them a voice.
“I’m here to work with the councillors for the good of the town.”
