As the weather starts to get warmer now is the time to act if you have a problem with wasps in your home, garden or workplace, says West Lindsey District Council.
Because of the mild winter, experts are expecting high numbers of wasps this spring and summer.
Sites commonly selected by queen wasps would be soil banks, roof spaces and hollows in trees and walls.
Due to a partnership with Elite Pest Management (EPM), the council now offers even more services to help deal with pests in homes and businesses.
Coun Tom Regis, chair of the Policy and Resources Committee, said: “Pest control is a well-regarded service which carries out extremely important work and many people look to the council for help. We are delighted to be able to offer our residents this one stop service.”
And it isn’t just wasps the council can help with.
Pest control experts can deal with bed bugs, cockroaches, cluster flies, fleas, rats and mice, with charges are set at competitive rates.
Those receiving housing benefit and/or council tax benefit, or who have state pension as their only income, are eligible for a partial refund towards the cost of treatment for fleas, rats or mice.
No refund is payable for treatment of any other pest.
To claim the refund contact customer services to request a claim form. A receipt for payment must be provided when returning the form.
Bookings can by made over the phone with the council’s customer services team on 01427 676676 (option 6), face-to-face at customer service points or online.
