A CAMPAIGN to clean-up Rasen’s “grot spots” is being launched this weekend.
Market Rasen Town Council has organised teams of volunteers to walk from the town centre out to the outer limits on all sides of the town to identify buildings and open spaces that are in disrepair, in need of a clean-up or are simply not in an acceptable condition.
Volunteers will meet at the Festival Hall at 9am on Sunday, February 13, but, as the hall will be manned until around 12 noon/1pm, anyone can join us later if they wish.
Councillors will then focus on getting these areas cleaned up, whether its by litter picks or seeking enforcement orders against buildings.
Mayor Brian Richardson said: “Town councillors and volunteers intend to walk each of the approaches into Rasen from the town boundaries and as many other roads as the number of volunteers will allow.
“We will record all concerns seen and take photographs where possible/appropriate. We will then draw up an action plan for dealing with the problems noted.”
