CHRISTMAS markets have been cancelled in Louth, Horncastle and, for the first time in 28 years, Lincoln due to the heavy snow.

But the festive fayre is still set to go ahead in Market Rasen this Friday, with a whole host of stalls setting up in the Market Place and in the Festival Hall.

Faye Rowland, Clerk to Market Rasen Town Council, said: “The Market Rasen Town Council and Market Rasen and District Round Table have formed a partnership again to run this year’s Christmas Market in conjunction with the Mayor’s Charity Event on Friday.

“Plans are coming together to make this year’s event bigger and better than ever before, a really family affair for young and old.”
