Brigg Mayor hosts civic service

Brigg Town Mayor John Kitwood hosted his annual Civic Service in St John’s Church when the town council were joined by representatives of North Lincolnshire Council, led by Coun Peter Clark, the Chairman, and of other councils in Lincolnshire and North Humberside.

The Civic procession assembled at ‘The Angel Suite’ and processed to the parish church following the Mayor.

The service was led by Rev Alec Depledge, Chaplain to the Town Mayor, and also Brigg’s Deputy Mayor.

Musicals item came from the Brigg Primary School Choir and St Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School Choir provided the second musical interlude.

The address was given by Rev Depledge and prayers were led by Father Owain Mitchell, Vicar of Brigg.

The Mayor led the procession back to the Angel Suite, where they were joined by members of local organisations and townsfolk who had attended the service for refreshments.
