Welton is set for yet another 50 new homes.
Just as West Lindsey’s Planning Committee this month approved 350 homes off Prebend Lane, officers last week recommended another plan to the east of Halfpenny Lane and the north of The Hardings, Welton.
This plan, also involving Beal Homes, is for 31 ‘affordable homes’ and 19 open market homes. ACIS Housing is the social housing partner. It is an amendment of similar plans submitted last year, with redesigned lay-outs.
An officer’s report, recommending approval, said the 1.7ha site had been identified in an independent housing needs survey as a potential location for affordable housing.
Welton Parish Council had expressed ‘concerns’ over the development’s impact on infrastructure in the village. But the report said it would help deliver needed affordable housing, help WLDC meet targets to deliver a five-year housing supply, with S106 agreements compensating for any negative impacts.
