AN ANTIQUE clock made by a man from Market Rasen is to go under the hammer at an auction in Lincoln.
The longcase clock made by J Watson around 1800 is expected to fetch between £800 and £1,200 when it goes up for sale by auctioneers Golding Young & Thos. Mawer on August 17.
Auctioneer John Leatt said: “This very pretty example of a local country longcase clock, which dates from around 1800, is in very good condition and in working order.
“It has an oak case, an eight-day movement and the dial is painted with peacocks, cockerels and pheasants within a landscape.
“As the clock has a good local connection, we expect a lot of interest from bidders from Market Rasen and the surrounding area.”
