Pickering plan ‘withdrawn’

Landowner Charles Pickering has had his application for 12 houses in Welton “deemed withdrawn” by West Lindsey District Council.

“This is because the Authority thinks that the development and the land to which the application relates is substantially the same as that previously dismissed by the Secretary of State on appeal in the preceding two years; and that the Authority thinks that there has been no significant change in the relevant considerations since that event,” WLDC chief operating officer Mark Sturgess told his planning agent.

Mr Pickering of Ashlin Farm, Ashling Lane, Dunholme, had sought to build the 12 homes on land off Dunholme Close.

Though the application was “deemed withdrawn”, a WLDC spokesperson said the council had no obligation to return its £4,620 planning fee as planning staff had worked on it.
