Picture Gallery: Wealth of talent on display at Caistor Arts and Crafts Festival

Arts, crafts and music combined for a two-day celebration of local talent at Caistor over the weekend.

More than 320 exhibits from 80 artists and around 30 craft stalls delighted visitors to the annual Arts and Crafts Festival in caistor Town

“This is the sixth festival,” said Liz Jefferson, one of the organising team.

“We were finding our way over the first couple of years, but now we are well established.”

Town Mayor Carol Mackenzie had the unenviable task of choosing her favourite piece from the art exhibition.

This went to the oil painting by Les Porter entitled Buskers on Board.

“What a brilliant art exhibition,” said Coun Mackenzie. “ It is always great to see the crafters too and the music adds an extra dimension and atmosphere.

“This is another great event in Caistor which wouldn’t happen without a team of volunteers - we are very grateful to them.”

The winner of the public vote was Diane Hill for her painting Autumn Stream.

“We have welcomed lots of new artists this year, along with many who have exhibited before,” said organiser Sheila Broster. “The standard continues to grow - what a wealth of talent there is locally.”
