A senior carer at a Market Rasen care home has been rewarded for 25 years of dedicated service.

Gail Baramuszczak has retired from her job at The Poplars in the town’s Chapman Street to spend more time with her family.

Her colleagues came together to wish her well, with Caroline Alford, area operations manager for the Order of St John Care Trust, which runs the home, on hand to present Gail with her award.

“It has been a privilege to work with Gail,” she said.

“She has always gone that bit extra for residents and they have always come first; we thank her for her many years of dedicated service and care.”

For Gail, there were mixed feelings on leaving The Poplars.

“I am sorry I am leaving; I have really enjoyed being here,” said Gail, who started work at the home 1989 when it was run by the county council, before being taken over by St John in 1992.

“I have seen many changes along the way, but have
enjoyed working with the residents over the years.

“The staff are a really great bunch of people to work with and I have made some good friends.”
