Brigg town clerk Jeanette Woollard was praised for her dedicated service in the town at her final meeting before standing down. She received a bouquet of flowers from retiring mayor Edward Arnott, who said: “Jeanette has given 22 years of service and dedication to Brigg. We thank her for what she has done for this town.” Mrs Woollard announced her resignation earlier this year.

She is to retire and spend more time with her family and grandchildren.

Coming to Brigg from South Yorkshire, she first served Scawby Parish Council, where she has lived, before taking on the bigger administrative job at Brigg.

She is being succeeded by Clare Phillips of Grasby, who has taken up her post this month.

Alison Hannath will continue as Assistant Clerk.
