Claims hub’s closure would have no impact on village

A resident has dismissed concerns over the future of Wragby Community Hub saying “it is not an 
important facility for the village”.

The volunteer-run community hub took over the village’s library services just over a month ago after county council cutbacks.

Two weeks ago we reported how hub secretary Barbara Bartlett was worried about the future of the facility after claiming it had received a £10,000 business rates bill.

Ms Bartlett said the hub’s closure would have a detrimental impact on the village - but a resident, who does not want to be named, disagrees.

The resident said: “Wragby hub is not an important facility for the village.

“It only opens three hours per day for two days a week and it’s set on the outskirts of the village.

“There’s so much going on in the village.

“I certainly don’t go there.

“It’s not an important part of the community.

“It’s certainly not something that’s helping to prevent social isolation.

“(If it closed) it would not worry an awful lot of
