Market Rasen Civic Service was held in St Thomas’s Church on Sunday.
Town mayor John Matthews and mayoress Jayne Bedford were joined by 36 mayors, the city sheriff, chairmen and consorts and was supported by his own colleagues from the town council, the Royal British Legion, Scouts, Cubs, Guides and Brownies and representative from the mayor’s selected charities.
After assembling at the Festival Hall, the parade lined up to be led by the Market Rasen Resdev Band to the church.
“It all went extremely well,” said Mayor of Market Rasen John Matthews. “We received many compliments, some noticing how we involved all branches of our local clergy. One civic couple even said it was the best Civic this year. Once again I thank and acknowledge all those who helped and supported the day.” The day raised almost £200 for the mayor’s charities – the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance and MNDA, Motor Neurone Disease Association.
