Obituary: Raymond Albert Chapman

The funeral service for Raymond Albert Chapman, aged 90 years of Market Rasen, took place at the parish church.

The Rev Elaine Turner officiated at the service and arrangements were by J Marshall.

Ray was born at Sixhills.

He worked as a motor engineer at The Racecourse Garage, before moving to Stephen Spouges and later to John Pocklington’s in Willingham Road, Market Rasen until his retirement in 1986.

In 1940, he joined the RAF and saw service in the UK, Egypt and India until the end of the war.

Family mourners were: Brenda Greensmith (daughter); David Greensmith (son-in-law); Clive Herrick (son-in-law); Mr and Mrs Paul Laughton (grandson and wife); Joanne Laughton and Chris Kinder (granddaughter and partner); Tracey Davis and Steve (granddaughter and partners); Mark Herrick (grandson); Rhianon Hales (great-granddaughter); Mr and Mrs R Pratt, Mr and Mrs M Holland (nieces and husbands).
