The funeral service for Jane Lesley Neal, aged 70 years of Tealby, was held at the parish church.

The Rev John Carr officiated at the service and arrangements were by J Marshall of Market Rasen.

Jane was a graduate of Exeter University, where she co-wrote a number of research papers in Experimental Psychology, published in the late sixties.

She trained in Cambridge as a secondary school teacher, but after she married in 1970, she opted out of academic life for a few years to work in record retailing and later drew on that experience to retrain as a teacher of Business Studies.

She taught in secondary schools in Northamptonshire before moving with her husband to De Aston School in Market Rasen, where she taught very successfully for 20 years.

She dedicated her life in Market Rasen to the school, living with her husband in the Head’s House on the school site.

She retired from teaching in 2004 and, when her husband retired as Head of De Aston six months later, they set up home in Tealby.

Jane loved France and was a member of the original committee which established Market Rasen’s Town Twinning link with Mamers in France, building on an existing school exchange, which De Aston School had initiated a number of years earlier.

Jane took part, with her husband, for many years in the annual exchanges between the two towns.

After her retirement, she became a very active member of Market Rasen Rotary Ladies, serving first as their treasurer and later as Chair.
