Not brassed off with bands

CAISTOR vicar the Rev Canon Ian Robinson revealed his love of brass band music after he took part in a radio show.

To mark the 70th anniversary of Desert Island Discs, Radio Lincolnshire aired a listeners’ music choice.

The programme featured a number of county folk who could each choose one piece of music.

And for Mr Robinson it was Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez, used in the 1996 film Brassed Off.

“The film shows the destruction of a community and reminds me of how important communities are,” he said on the programme.
