The awards are open to residents in this area who live in Redbourne, Kirton Lindsey, Hibaldstow, Cadney, Howsham, Scawby, Brigg, Wrawby, Barnetby and Kirmington.
The council is looking to hear about groups and individual who have dedicated time to volunteering, contributed to the health and wellbeing of the community, made personal achievements in overcoming barriers or excelling in a sport or the arts, worked hard for the local community or been a ‘true inspiration’ to others.
Award categories include Young Volunteer of the Year, Anti-Bullying Champion, Sports Achiever of the Year, Community Project of the Year and Community Champion of the Year.
Cabinet member for commercial enterprise, Coun John Briggs said: “The Community Champion Awards recognises truly inspiration achievements from people in North Lincolnshire communities.
“All too often, achievements are not highlighted but these awards make sure that people are rewarded for their amazing compassion and hard work.
“If you know of an individual or group in your community that deserves to be recognised for fantastic work they do, nominate them for an award.
“Whether it is a personal achievement, inspiration to others, work they have done in their community of volunteering their services for a good cause, we want to hear from you.”
You can make a nomination online at northlincs.gov.uk/champion or by contacting the community recreation team on 01724 297270 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for a nomination form.
The closing date for nominations is September 18.
Winners will receive a trophy and certificate, and runners-up will receive a certificate.
