A Caistor Cancer survivor has been raising money for charity by growing a beard.
Scott Eastwood signed up to support the Beating Bowel Cancer’s Decembeard campaign in aid of bowel cancer.
“Growing my beard for Decembeard is something I can do right now even though I’m not feeling great,” said Scott, who underwent lifesaving emergency surgery in March to remove three tumours.
Scott spent eight days in hospital before going home to recover and then undergoing 12 gruelling sessions of chemotherapy.
Scott is very grateful to the support he has received from family and friends, everyone at the school where he teaches, as well as the Oncology nurses at Lincoln County Hospital.
“I tried to keep a positive attitude during chemo which helped,” he said.
“I also try to keep active too, playing a little golf and taking my six-year-old son to London.
“I am moving house in January as well as starting back at school again. New Year, new start, and boy, am I looking forward to the end of 2014!”
