The harvest supper in aid of St Mary’s Church was organised by a new team this year.
Maxine Gibson had volunteered to take over and she was assisted by Denise Howsam with support from Alison Moore and other church members and friends.
The village hall was filled for the occasion, which had beef stew with vegetables and dumplings on the menu, with the ingredients all generously donated by Nick and Maxine Gibson.
Party puddings, coffee and truffles rounded off the meal.
Entertainment was provided afterwards by Richard Stamp, with a frivolity spot, and Veronica Chamberlin, who had taken along her keyboard and accompanied the rousing sing a long of favourite harvest hymns.
The happy social evening was very successful, raising £889 for church funds and thanks go to everyone who contributed and gave their support on the night.
