Workshops on natural health remedies are proving to be a big hit as part of the range of activities being held at Rasen Hub.
Medical herbalist Ali English is running the events once a month and the February session will be looking at spice cabinet medicine.
“We are looking at herbs you can get hold of easily,” said Ali.
“A lot of people want something they can do for themselves at home, alongside their GP.”
The workshops can take up to 12 people and include handouts, recipes and ideas for home remedies.
Future sessions will include a spring detox and, in the summer, herb walks.
“Its all about understanding what plants can do and empowering people to take care of their own health at home,” added Ali.
Ali first became interested in herbal medicine when she was 13.
“I was given a plot in the garden at home, which had herbs in and I was hooked,” she said.
She has now completed a three-year medical herbalist degree at Lincoln and runs Eldrum Mobile Therapies with her partner Matt Aldridge.
As well as the workshops, both she and Matt offer one to one consultations in Western Herbal medicine, acupressure, Kinesio taping and therapeutic massage.
The Spice Cabinet workshop takes place on Tuesday February 17, from 7pm to 9pm.
Booking is essential - cost £15 per person.
