A yellow weather warning for heavy rain has been issued by the Met Office for our region tomorrow, Wednesday March 9.
The Met Office has said a depression will bring persistent rain, heavy at times, moving into Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire from the early hours of Wednesday, continuing during the morning before slowly easing in the afternoon.
Forecasters say the front will be accompanied by windy conditions, this rain is likely to produce some flooding and difficult driving conditions.
Some sleet and snow is also likely in places, mainly on higher ground above 300 m, though temporary snowfall accumulations of 1-2 cm are also possible at low levels.
A Met Office spokesman said: “Please be aware of the risk of localised flooding and disruption to transport.”
On Thursday, any early rain will clear, becoming dry and bright. Friday will see cloud gradually increasing, but many places will remain dry and bright. Saturday will be mainly dry, with bright or sunny spells possible.
