A charity race day has raised a staggering £8,000 for two well-deserving rural organisations.
The Lincolnshire Rural Support Network and the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance co-hosted their ‘Lincolnshire rural charities race day’ at Market Rasen racecourse on Sunday, April 12.
LRSN project manager Alison Twiddy said: “The yellow ambucopter serves as a very visible reminder of the life-saving role it fulfils within Lincolnshire’s large and rural county.
“And where you see a green LRSN fleece our team are often involved in equally tragic situations, though not always as easily identified.
“LRSN and LNAA are very grateful to all our sponsors and guest who joined us for our second RCRD.”
She added: “It is truly fantastic to get so much local support for two rural charities that provide help and support for Lincolnshire’s rural communities in unforeseen circumstances”.
The charities’ 240 guests were entertained with fundraising activities, a three course meal and afternoon tea.
Ms Twiddy thanked race sponsors ABN, Brown and Co, JHWalter and all the table sponsors.
The winner of the sweepstakes was Mr Casswell.
