Two sixth form students from De Aston School devoted their work experience week to brightening the lives of residents at the town’s Poplars Care Home.
Lara Tilbury and Kathryn Cook created some bright and beautiful murals to be displayed on the walls and Sheila Pickering, activities leader and dementia co-ordinator at The Poplars, was delighted with the paintings.
“It has been great to involve the young with the old,” she said.
“Our corridors are quite plain and there was nothing for our residents to look at on the walls. These paintings are wonderful and will provide stimulation for the large proportion of our residents who suffer with dementia.”
