Music for Eric and inspiring women

Entertainment for Eric - The October music night was a special event, with a hog roast and entertainment from Dave Ritchie helping to raise money for St Barnabas Hospice in memory of Eric Tuplin.

Dave gave a rousing entertaining three sets on stage and the hog roast, provided by Rob, proved very popular.

A mini auction saw Jeff excel as an auctioneer, while Frank, of the Missouri Raiders, organised a whisky bottle game, as well as helping compere the evening.

Amy Reeve, from St Barnabas, went along to receive £770, the result of the night’s efforts plus donations as a thank you for the loving care Eric received from the Hospice at Home team.

WI - This month’s meeting welcomed Jean Howard as speaker, who told the tale of Edith Chaplin, born in Lincolnshire who went on to become the Marchioness of Londonderry.

She turned out to be one of the inspiring women of her time, fitting in perfectly with the WI organisation’s centenary celebrations this year.

The next meeting will be in the village hall on Wednesday, December 2, at 7.30pm, when it will be time to ring in Christmas with the Wragby Handbell Ringers.
