This year’s summer reading challenge has been a real record breaker for Market Rasen Library and the young readers alike.
More than 100 children took part in the challenge this year, more than ever before, and lots of them went along to the library recently to collect their certificates.
Along the way, many of them had also taken part in the Record Breakers event day, with results on the right.
“We’ve had a great time,” said librarian Mel Fenwick.
“But what it is all about is encouraging that love of reading in the children and if we can do that in a fun way then that is great.”
This year’s theme gave a lot of scope for activities, which has proved to be very popular .
“All libraries exceeded last year’s number, so it has been a record breaking year all round,” said area manager Nicola Rogers.
“It has been a great theme and attracted lots more boys this year which is fantastic.
“We are now looking forward to next year and to see what the theme is.”
The library is encouraging those who took part to complete a five minute survey which can be found at www.surveymonkey.com/r/recordbreakers
