Only the chief executive of West Lindsey District Council, Manjeet Gill, made a ‘Rich List’ of local authority six-figure earners at the council.

However, 13 other chiefs in Lincolnshire made the Town Hall Rich List, compiled by the Taxpayers Alliance.

Lincolnshire’s highest council earner is county council Chief Executive, Tony McArdle on £173,226, much higher than the £142,500 earned by PM David Cameron.

Other high earners include Andrew Taylor, chief executive of Lincoln City Council on £125,638; Richard Willis executive director for Communities at Lincolnshire County Council on £126,678 and David O’Connor, executive director for performance and governance at Lincolnshire County Council on £125,983.

West Lindsey’s £105,000 CEO salary was similar to other district CEOs, ranging from £102,960 at East Lindsey to £110,000 at South Kesteven.

WLDC also publishes its highest earners on its website, which appears to show them having had no pay rises in recent years. The council says salaries change as part of national agreements. Just three names made its Senior Salaries Disclosure for March 31 2014, down from five on 2012, as two staff left. Whether new staff, such as Commercial Director Penny Sharp, and Director of Resources Ian Knowles, makes the council’s own list in its next update remains to be seen.
