Local organisations are being reminded about the need to order poppy wreaths as plans have been announced for this year’s Remembrance Day parade in Brigg.
Plans announced by Brigg Town Council invite all uniformed groups and voluntary organisations, to join with town officials and councillors on Sunday, November 13.
The parade will form up in Station Road at 10.25am in readiness to move off at 10.35am for the service at St John’s Church, Bigby Street, which will start at 10.50am.
Afterwards the parade will re-form in Wrawby Street before proceeding to The Monument for the wreath-laying ceremony and Sounding of Calls.
The parade will return to Station Road to dismiss.
The service at St John’s Church will be conducted by Father Owain Mitchell and Mayor John Kitwood will lead the homage alongside veterans of the Royal British Legion.
Organisations are reminded at this early stage about the procedure for ordering wreaths through the local contact who is Maureen Glossop at Sandcrest, 50 St Helens Road, Brigg (tel 01652 656744).
Prices are £20-50 for wreaths including insignia badge with cheques payable to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
