Helping to beat the rogue traders

Free information sessions to help beat bogus traders will be held in the Rasen
area this Friday, August 22, as the County Council and Police run Operation Rogue Trader Lincolnshire.

The main aim is to provide advice and information and to deal with any rogue traders found to be operating.

“We often hear about these unscrupulous traders who purposely target the elderly and vulnerable with the sole aim to extort money or commit crimes,” said PCSO Neil Harrison.

“One of the best ways we can combat this type of crime is to give free advice and education to our local elderly and vulnerable residents and we hope that by operating these sessions we will be able to advise people and equip them with the knowledge they need to prevent becoming a victim of these of callous criminals.”

The first session will be in Middle Rasen Church Hall from 10.30am and the second at Fletcher Court in Mill Road, Market Rasen, from 12.30pm.

Sessions begin with a 15-minute presentation followed by the chance to speak to Local Community Support Officers and Trading Standards Officers.
