A new arts and crafts therapy group in Market Rasen is set to help people cope with anxiety, depression and other mental health problems.
Inspire is an informal and friendly group for anyone over the age of 18, offering friendship and support.
This new group will meet at the Rasen Hub on Tuesday afternoons, starting on May 7.
“One in four people have mental health issues and because it is an ‘invisible’ illness it can be a very lonely place,” said Carol Skye, who has founded the group along with Catherine Meakin and Stella Tuplin.
All three have experienced similar problems, so understand how difficult it can be to get out and about when you feel low.
“By focussing on a craft or cultural activity we hope that many people will find renewed hope and direction,” added Ms Skye.
On joining, members will be given a personalised record to write in achievements and the first five sessions will be all about the senses, with members creating their own ‘Keep Calm and Carry On Box’.
Rasen Hub has partnered with the Managed Care Network and received its first ever contract to deliver this new service for the next year.
To book in, drop into The Hub at 20 Union Street or call 01673 844556.
