A new Dementia Family Support Service, which is being run by Alzheimer’s Society, will be officially launched at the end of the month.

The charity is being funded by Lincolnshire County Council to provide the service for three years.

The project, which helped its first client at the start of this month, offers information and advice to help people through their dementia journey, as well as signposting
them to other local organisations.

Nasim Minhas, Alzheimer’s Society services manager for Lincolnshire, said: “This new service is now providing vital support to many of the 11,000 people living with dementia in Lincolnshire.”

The official launch will take place in Lincoln at the Showroom on Tritton Road on October 29.

Alzheimer’s Society also runs Dementia Cafés, activity groups and Singing for the Brain groups across the county.
