A tea party in Barnetby and a street party and beer festival in Scawby are two of the events to get a share of the funding pot set up by North Lincolnshire Council to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday.
In all, more than £12,000 has been awarded by the authority to various community groups.
On top of all the celebration events, commemorative mugs are being created and trees planted.
“I have been amazed by the amount of applications we have received from local community groups,” said Coun Liz Redfern, Leader of North Lincolnshire Council.
“There are some wonderful events and celebrations planned across the whole of North Lincolnshire for the Queen’s birthday. It is the perfect opportunity for communities to come together and mark this special occasion.”
