Council vacancy and upcoming meeting.

Council vacancy - There was no request for an election to fill the vacancy on Asterby and Goulceby Parish Council caused by the resignation of Ian Peet.

The council will now fill the vacancy by co-option and further details are available from the clerk on 01673 858451.

Applications should be made in writing to Alice Hodgson, clerk to the council, Sycamore Cottage, Torrington Lane, East Barkwith, LN8 5RY, or by email at asterbyclerk@yahoo.co.uk by January 16.

Council meeting - The next meeting of Asterby and Goulceby Parish Council will be held in the Three Horse Shoes Inn on Monday, January 18, starting at 7.30pm.

The meeting begins with a 15-minute open session for members of the public to ask questions and make observations.

The main item on the agenda will be the draft budget and setting of the precept for 2016 to 2017.

East Lindsey District council will be re-charging the cost of parish elections from April 2016 and will not be passing on the council tax support grant.

The parish council was previously grouped with Ranby, which is now detached, so there will be fewer households to pay the parish share of the council tax from April.
