Fundraising is just a ‘Walk in the Park’

A group of friendly volunteers from Welton are showing fundraising for charity can be just a ‘Walk in the Park’.

The group has organised a fun-filled family day in the village to raise money for three charitable causes.

Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, Cancer Research UK and St Barnabas Hospice will all benefit from the event on Saturday, July 19 at William Farr School.

And now they are looking for people to sign up and take part in the 12-hour sponsored ‘walk’ part of the event.

“Teams or individuals are invited to sign up,” said committee member Caroline Swindin.

“People can take on the challenge to do as many laps as they are able to, according to their ability.

“We just ask them to gain sponsorship to do so.”

The day is open to everyone, but to walk on the track people must register beforehand.

And as well as the walk, there will be lots of entertainment too - displays, stalls, live music and more.
