Farms across the country open their gates this weekend for the annual Open Farm
Sunday event to celebrate British farming and food.

One of those is Hall Farm in Stainton le Vale, where it promises to be a fascinating and enjoyable day out for the whole family.

Discover how they grow wheat and barley, see their herd of Lincoln Red cattle, which provides Waitrose, and their flock of sheep.

Take a guided walk or trailer ride, to see the work carried out to encourage birds and animals to inhabit the farm, and enjoy the local food stalls, birds of prey and vintage tractor run too.

And new for 2015 is a butchery demonstration from Sunnyside Up.

Market Rasen Rotary Club and Round Table will, as always, be serving barbecued burgers and other refreshments, together with delicious home-made cakes, whichwill be on sale from the local church ladies and WI.

Also offering an action packed family day this Sunday, June 7, is Uncle Henry’s at Grayingham.

There will be a range of hands on activities and displays throughout the day, including tractor and trailer rides, pig racing, pony rides, the ABN Discovery Zone, food demonstrations, machinery demonstrations and lots more in aid of the Brigg Rotary Club and their chosen charities.

The main ring will also feature falconry displays, a family dog show and even a mascot race.

And there will also be a range of food and drink available throughout, including Uncle Henry’s award-winning Lincolnshire Sausages from the BBQ.

Entry and parking are free at both events, which run from 10am to 4pm.
