Former pupils, parents and anyone who has had an association with Brocklesby School is invited to go along and help celebrate the school’s achievements as it closes its doors for the final time.
Brocklesby Park School has served the community for 166 years, but with pupil numbers now down into the teens, this is its last term.
Despite tireless efforts by governors, parents and staff, the school will officially close on August 31.
To mark this momentous occasion, the school is inviting people to ‘Bring a dish and Reminisce’ on Tuesday, July 21, from 5pm to 7pm.
“As a celebration for the history of the school and achievements over that period, we are inviting past and present pupils, staff, governors and friends to join us,” said head teacher Jo Spriggs.
“There are lots of people who have had a connection in the past and it will be nice for people to get together and talk about old times.
“It will be interesting for the children to listen to how things used to be.
“We hope people will also bring along photographs and memorabilia relating to the school.”
Each of the 14 remaining pupils will be getting an autograph book to record names and the governors have been busy producing the ‘Brocklesby Bugle’ with photos and anecdotes, which will be available on the night.
