Wickenby Flying Club is once again running Wickenby Wings and Wheels over the Fathers’ Day weekend, June 15 and 16.
There’s a great aerial line-up in prospect at this year’s show with something for all the family.
There will be flying displays from the British Aerobatic Champion, Gerry Cooper, as well as the famous “Captain Neville’s Flying Circus and The Matadors.
Organisers also hope to have the Spitfire and Hurricane from the BBMF and the beautifully choreographed SWIP team - watch as flames and trails come from their wings as they fly sweeping aerobatic figures.
But it’s not just about the planes there is a strong motoring thread running through the day as well, with vintage cars from all over and every age.
And there’s also fun to be had with the famous Tractor Run.
The very young haven’t been forgotten either, with rides, candy floss, Punch’n’Judy and other entertainment.
Gates open at 10am each day.
And last, but not least, there is also the Fun of the Forties dinner dance on the Saturday night, from 6.30pm..
Re-live VE day in an authentic 1940s marquee, a great backdrop for a live swing band and 1940s disco.
A hot carved buffet, followed by strawberries and cream, and sunset flying displays from Wickenby’s own XA41 and the SWIP Duo.
Tickets to this vintage party cost £30 per person.
Tickets for the main event cost £12.50 for adults and £5 for children, aged eight and over, on the gate or £10 in advance.
Both are available from www.wickenbyairfield.com
