You are never too young to get into the habit of healthy eating.
And a new six-week course at Market Rasen Children’s Centre is proving just that.
‘Start as You Mean to Go On’ gives parents to opportunity to look at healthy eating with their children an, even more important, get them to try new tastes.
It is important to get children at a young age to look at what they are eating,” said Stacie Souhal, who is part of the Children’s Services team delivering the course.
“It is nice for them to try different things and plant the seed to make them more aware of making good choices when it comes to eating.”
The first session looked at breakfasts, in particular helping to understand labelling on cereals, and future sessions will include lunch and snacks, summer lunch, take away and microwave meals.
“It is good to go on a cooking course where you can bring children too,” said Michelle, mum of three-year-old Ethan.
“It is a very good idea.”
The cookery course is just one of the many activities at Market Rasen Children’s Centre for children and parents to enjoy.
