Staff at Osgodby Primary School have been back in the classroom themselves to learn basic sign language.
They spent two of their in service training days - one in September and one in January - to complete the course.
And they are pictured with their certificates having all passed their Makaton training.
Makaton is a language programme using signs and symbols to help people of all abilities and ages communicate.
It is designed to support spoken language, with signs and symbols being dropped at their own pace, as speech develops.
