A concert to celebrate the musical life of a former student, Caitlin Smith, was held at Brigg’s Vale Academy.

Caitlin was tragically killed in a road accident and this concert was arranged to celebrate her love of music.

Proceeds went towards the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.

It was a moving occasion with lots of music Caitlin would have liked, such as Disney’s ‘Frozen’ songs and Olly Murs.

She had just started her Duke of Edinburgh Award, was part of the choir and a member of the Academy Music Council.

On a school visit to the WW1 Battlefields she even sang at the Menin Gate.
