An extension to Caistor Primary School has come before the county council.

Lincolnshire County Council is seeking public comment for the proposals at the school in South Dale.

The school has applied to build a single storey extension at the south east of Block 1 to improve its Foundation Stage provision.

A 41m2 Foundation Resource area is proposed, along with a 10m2 classroom extension and 10m2 cloakroom area.

The project, which will create room for 13 pre-schoolers, has won the support of town and county councillors.

It will help fulfil a demand for pre-school places following the planned July closure of Whitegate Kindergarten.

“The proposed building is essential for the school to meet the needs of the community. The whole concept was born out of Section 106 money from the county and so far Lincolnshire County Council have been extremely helpful in driving this project forward,” said town councillor and school governor John Burns Salmond in a report.
