The undergrounding of the electricity supply in East Barkwith, initially due to be undertaken in 2012, is now scheduled to start on Monday March 23 and will hopefully be completed for the summer.
Delays in negotiations to purchase a small area of land for the sub station, now to be erected near the village hall, have been completed and some preliminary work took place last year.
Residents have all received letters from Western Power Distribution extending an apology in advance, while warning of necessary disruption while work is in progress with what will be a huge undertaking for the company and their contractors.
There will be traffic management with temporary lights during excavations, but no road closures.
The power supply will also be interrupted, particularly during the swap over.
