AN APPEAL launched by Brigg Garden Centre in early February for people to donate desperately-needed supplies to a Lincolnshire hedgehog hospital has proven to be so popular with visitors that it is still running almost a year later.

Members of the public have rallied round to support the Hedgehog Care Hospital at Authorpe, near Louth, by donating towels, blankets, kitchen towels, toilet paper and pet food at collection points in the garden centre.

Stacey Batham, a volunteer helper at the hedgehog hospital, said: “The response to Brigg Garden Centre’s appeal for us has been brilliant. So far we have received over 750 towels, blankets and sheets, together with dozens and dozens of tins of pet food and toilet paper.”
