DID you or your family settle in North Lincolnshire in the 1950s or later?
Did they come from elsewhere in the UK or from overseas? Are you interested in sharing your memories about your move and what it was like settling in a area?
North Lincolnshire Museum in Scunthorpe is looking for people to loan objects for its current exhibition – Stories through Suitcases.
The exhibition, which focuses on the stories of people who came here from other parts of the world from the 1950s onwards, opened this week and is led by a group of young people from this area who are exploring North Lincolnshire’s social and industrial heritage.
The museum is still looking for suitcases, bags, clothing and jewellery, photographs, household items, musical instruments etc, and any objects loaned for the exhibition will be displayed in secure cases and returned once the exhibition closes.
To offer objects and for more information contact either Lisa Staves or Kerry Dunk at North Lincolnshire Museum – email firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com or call 01724 843533.
Stories through Suitcases is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and runs until January 5, 2013.
