Depression sounds at the Riverhead

A PROGRAMME of songs and music from the last Great Depression, from 1929 to 1942, comes to the Louth Riverhead Theatre this week.

78rpm Jazz Band present mostly ‘cheer-up’ songs, ranging from the heartfelt I Can’t Give You Anything But Love to the inane Happy Days Are Here Again, this Saturday, February 12, at 7.30pm.

These musicians, drawn from the Piccadilly Dance Orchestra, are welcomed back to the Riverhead Theatre for the fourth successive year to create a cocktail of great songs and swinging jazz, which is guaranteed to set your feet tapping and bring back many happy memories.

Tickets cost £13, theatre card holders £11.50, and are available from the box office, open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 1pm, or by calling 01507 600350.
