A Market Rasen man has celebrated his formal commissioning as a Royal Navy Officer on parade at Britannia Royal Naval College.
Midshipman David Perry was one of around 120 Officer Cadets who took part in the parade.
To earn his place on the parade ground, the 24-year-old completed an intensive 30 week training course,
“This has been the most challenging and rewarding time I’ve ever had,” said David.
“Gaining a strong pass during the final exercise on the River Dart, completing the commando assault course and being winched from a boat by a helicopter have been the highlights of the course.”
A former student at De Aston School, David studied for aMasters in Economics at Swansea University, where he had his first introduction to the Service as a member of the University Royal Naval Unit.
Now, with the first phase of his training complete, David will remain at BRNC to begin his professional warfare training.
