A teenager from Nettleton has helped raise more than £350 for a charity that helps disadvantaged children.

Former De Aston pupil Darbi Murphy featured in the evening’s entertainment at the event in Hull, which supported the Cash for Kids charity.

The 17-year-old singer put on a superb performance, along with backing pianist Phil and local Hull vocalist Billy Jo, aged 14, who won the Hull’s Got Talent Competition earlier this year.

Based across 21 areas of the UK, Cash for Kids support children aged 0-18 who are disabled, disadvantaged or suffering from abuse or neglect.

Last year, more than £11 million was raised for them with donations and fundraising events such as this.

Two of the charity’s patrons are popular TV presenters Ant and Dec, who said: “We are both very aware of the need to offer young people support and opportunities to help them achieve their
potential – whatever that may be.

“ Cash for Kids recognises
where these needs lie and gives that essential helping hand.”

Locally, the charity is sponsored and supported by radio station Viking FM.
