Warning following Market Rasen handbag thefts

Police have warned shoppers in Market Rasen to be aware of handbag security after recent thefts in the town.

On Monday and Tuesday, February 15 and 16, police received two reports from shoppers their handbags had gone missing from their trolley while shopping at Tesco in Linwood Road.

Officers are working with store security staff and a number of enquiries are ongoing in relation to these thefts.

“We would like to take the opportunity to remind people to be vigilant around handbags and personal possessions at all times, not just while visiting supermarkets, and to be aware of anyone who might be nearby and acting in a suspicious manner,” said a police spokesman.

If you have any information in relation to these thefts, contact Lincolnshire Police on 101, quoting incidents 192 and 165 of 16/02/2016. Alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
