Vandals strike at De Aston school

VANDALS broke into a school to search the building and destroy lead from the roof.

On Saturday evening, intruders forced their way into classrooms and offices at Market Rasen’s De Aston School.

They vandalised the roof – removing lead slates and smashing them in the car park, but nothing was stolen.

PC Rob Graves said: “A lot of doors have been unlocked or forced open – both on classrooms and offices.

“Metal theft is a massive issue for Market Rasen at the moment and historically we’ve had a lot of problems at schools during the holidays. We will be doing regular routine patrols throughout the night to try to combat this problem.”
