Thief who committed fraud is sentenced

A SIXHILLS man has been ordered to do 120 hours unpaid work after admitting three fraud offences and two theft charges, Grimsby Magistrates’ Court heard.

Jason Baker, 20, of Council House stole jewellery, a hi-fi, camera, electric saw and DVD from Valeria Young in Grimsby between April 30, 2010 and March 28, 2011. He also stole jewellery, DVDs and a camera from Natalie Young.

Between September 26, 2010 and March 15, 2011 Baker committed fraud by claiming he was the owner of jewellery and entitled to sell it.

He also claimed he was the owner of DVDs, a games console and games and tried to sell them to gain cash for himself between December 31, 2010 and March 31, 2011.

Baker again committed fraud by false representation between October 10, 2010 and March 4, 2011 when he claimed to be the owner of and entitled to sell jewellery, an electric saw, camera lighter, DVDs and a games console.

He was also ordered to pay £500 compensation.
