Teen dies in collision

A TEENAGER from Caistor has died after his car left the road and collided with a tree.

The collision happened at about 8:15pm on Saturday March 19 in North Kelsey Road near Caistor.

Emergency services attended the scene and discovered that a blue Peugeot 206 had left the road and collided with a tree.

The driver and sole occupant of the car was certified as deceased at the scene.

Police are in the process on ensuring that his family and friends are aware of his death.

The Lincolnshire Police Collision Investigation Team are investigating the cause of the collision. They are appealing for any witnesses who saw the car leave the road or anyone who saw it on the road prior to the collision to contact them by leaving a message on the Collision Witness Hotline - 01522 558855.

This was the 11th death on the roads of Lincolnshire in 2011 compared to eight over the same period last year.
